Originally from Alexandria VA (b. 1971), Paul spent most of his youth in Atlanta GA where he found his interest in traditional Blues music as a pianist and harmonica player.
At the age of 19, Paul was awarded "best sideman" by the Atlanta Blues Society for his work with Felix and the Cats (voted Best Blues Band in Atlanta, Atlanta Magazine, 1992-1995). During this time, Felix's group backed up Bo-Diddley and Jerry McCain, as well as opening shows for Koko Taylor, John Lee Hooker and Jeff Healey. Near the end of this era, Paul and Felix befriended former Ink-Spot Eddie Tigner for whom Paul recorded and produced two albums for the Music Maker Label.
From 1996 to 2002 Paul joined Sean Costello and began to tour regionally and then nationally. From 1998 to 2000, Costello's group was complemented by singer Susan Tedeschi and this group toured internationally as the opener for acts like BB King, Buddy Guy, Dr. John, Delbert McClinton and Bonnie Raitt. In 2002, Paul began working in academia as an adjunct professor for Northern Michigan University, then as a visiting professor for the University of Southern Mississippi.
Before settling in Mississippi, Paul worked for USM in France and England. This rapidly became an opportunity to create contacts and perform abroad. Accordingly, Paul has worked as a musician, agent and manager throughout France, Belgium, the Netherlands and in England. Since 2005, Paul has performed as a solo pianist and vocalist at European festivals as well as locally at Just 1 More Blues Bar in Hattiesburg.
Currently, Paul is a visiting professor of Entertainment Industry at USM and performs regionally with Big Al and the Heavyweights - a contemporary Blues, Zydeco and Rock and Roll group out of Louisiana.
