Elvin Killerbee

band picture Born in Baytown, Texas in 1966, Elvin Killerbee was destined for fame. Moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana at an early age, Elvin was surrounded by the diverse culture and sounds of Louisiana musical legends, Guitar Slim, Lonesome Sundown, Slim Harpo, and Little Walter. But it was the sounds of the "three kings" that inspired him to pick up the guitar. Yes, I'm talking about Albert, Freddy and BB. Completely self - taught, Elvin would buy their records and spend countless hours picking up the needle off his phonograph, moving it back and forth learning the masters guitar styles. But it was the Beatles and Texas Troubadour, Jerry Jeff Walker who inspired Elvin to write songs.

At the age of 21, Elvin left his home and headed West to LA to further his skills. The word soon spread of the young guitar slinger \ vocalist from Louisiana. He performed at the famous Whiskey A Go Go raising eyebrows and catching the ears of the popular LA musicians. But he longed to return home to his Louisiana roots and family. After moving back, Elvin became the featured guitarist with Zydeco legend, Lynn August and the Hot August Knights. He toured non stop going everywhere from Europe to Africa.

Elvin was now ready to strike out on his own. He formed his own band and has been performing his stinging brand of blues throughout the US. With his distinctive guitar style and his singing and songwriting abilities, Elvin Killerbee is quickly making a name for himself as one of the up and coming Louisiana musical legends.

Big Al and Elvin have now teamed up and they are touring and writing songs with the Heavyweights for a new CD. As Big Al describes his friend, " he's the real deal, guitarist, vocalist song writer, the ultimate performer, a real HEAVYWEIGHT. "
